Lives of Children during this Pandemic

This worldwide phenomenon has affected not only the economy and the health of many, but also most importantly the lives and well-being of children. It can be recalled that lockdowns begun summertime of 2020 and everything changed.

No one’s ever allowed to go out, only the essential workers. We were told to stay home and do only necessary things when going out. The world stopped. Yes, we suffered so much because of the pandemic. Children were told to stay home. All they see from then on were the corners of their homes. They were not allowed to play outside, not allowed to see their friends and not even allowed to hug and kiss their family members unless assured that it’s safe. What’s even worse is that, they cannot go to school and compromise their health. Another painstaking part for the parents. They need to trade their children and go on to the learning process children need. Some parents really took a big sacrifice for this torn between education and health.

Furthermore, since the government cannot just sit down and watch children sink down the hole, they came up with a way to continue their education in a safer manner, that is, the modular way or the online class. They deign this home based learning set-up for the children to continuously learn. In this way, the pandemic shouldn’t be a hindrance for the children to stop learning.

As a student myself, I have been confined in our home for over a year now. I am praying so hard that this pandemic will be over soon. Be back at school and learn normally like we used to. Meet our teachers in the classroom and talk with friends and classmates. On this note we should do our share and be protected by getting the vaccine. Stay safe out there everyone.
